Rescue Stories
Axel the German Shepard hound mix was dumped at a high kill shelter in North Carolina with his 3 sisters in 2015 when they were just little puppies. An amazing animal rescue organization from Malvern, PA jumped in to save the little family by picking them up in a van and driving them to straight to Pennsylvania. Axel was the first rescue dog of the people behind Waggy Swag Co. They promised him nothing but love, understanding and a safe furever home to call his own. One of Axel’s favorite things to do is swim and sail. Aye, Aye, Captain Axel!
Aspen, the husky pit mix, was the second rescue to join the Waggy Swag Co. family. Her and her sister were time stamped to be euthanized within 48 hours at a high kill shelter in West Virginia, but another rescue organization from Northern New Jersey stepped in to save them. When Aspen isn’t wagging her whole body and giving tons of kisses, she likes to go for long walks and chase squirrels.
Arya, the Australian Shepard mix, was the third rescue to join the family. She came from West Virginia as well, picked up as a stray by yet another rescue organization. She finally found her furever home, but unfortunately only got to spend 4 months with her new family because she became very ill. She became very lethargic and started to lose her sight. She wouldn’t eat and wasn’t the same dog. At only 1.5 years old, she passed away from a seizure due to a fungal infection that she contracted as a stray in West Virginia. It was very hard for the Waggy Swag Co. family, but she will always be in their hearts and a part of their story. It is because of Arya, that the Waggy Swag Co. family began fostering dogs in her honor.
